United States President Donald Trump retweeted three videos that purportedly show Muslims carrying out crimes that are sourced from a far-right British group.
The original posts come from Jayda Fransen, the second-in-charge at Britain First, an organization that condemns what they call the “Islamification of the UK”.
Britain First was founded in 2011 by former members of the far-right British National Party, or BNP.
Britain First’s deputy leader has threatened “direct action” against elected Muslims.
Council on American Islamic Relations responded by saying that Trump’s “actions should be condemned by all American political and religious leaders.”
The negative feedback on the three retweets has been strong.
The retweets came shortly before 7 am.
