Mass Twitter barrage for net neutrality strikes FCC head

Published

on

A massive barrage of tweets aimed towards the Twitter account of Federal Communications Commision head in the United States struck on Tuesday evening, organized by The Anon Journal.

The Journal organized the “tweetstorm” in an effort to pressure FCC Chairman Ajit Pai to back off of a plan to remove open Internet regulations this Thursday.

The Anonymous publication encouraged its followers to tweet the chairman starting at 6 p.m. in an effort to stage a mass protest online against the controversial move.

Experts say that the rollback of Obama-era Internet regulations will allow providers to put up paywalls for websites and digital services in the United States.

Prominent organization Fight for the Future created a Battle for the Net website where they encourage citizens to call on their local politicians to fight for “net neutrality”.
