Canada has shot up to third place in the overall medal standings at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang after day six in South Korea. 

Four gold, five silver and four bronze medals place Canada two podium finishes behind Germany and four behind the leader, Norway.

Canada’s Women’s Hockey Team continues to lead the toughest pool in the Olympic tournament after winning against the United States on Wednesday evening 2-1 in the Kwandong Hockey Centre.

Russian athletes under the Olympic flag, Finland and Russia all trial the Canadian team in Group A.

The men’s hockey team devastated Switzerland 5-1 early on Thursday in their first group game of the tournament, with their next match scheduled for Friday at 10:10 p.m. versus the Czech Republic.
