A representative for the Republic of Florida white nationalist organization told multiple news agencies in the United States that the Parkland shooting suspect was a member of their group.

Authorities knew of the shooter

Nikolas Cruz, who killed 17 in a mass shooting at Marjory Stonement Douglas High School on Wednesday, previously participated in paramilitary drills with the organization, according to what Jordan Jereb told the Associated Press.

Republic of Florida was placed on the Southern Poverty Law Centre’s “Hate Watch” list, a monitoring organization that tracks extremist groups.

“I do think civil war is a very real possibility in the next two years,” Mr. Jereb told the Tallahesse Democrat.

He predicts that there will be an “open, violent clash involving guns and people stabbing and killing each other”.

Jereb’s group supports the establishment of a white ethno-state, and was it was reported last year by Tallahassee-based WTXL-TV that it was seeking more members and was noted by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.

The Floridian has been arrested in the past and has a personal YouTube account with speeches and videos from Republic of Florida events.
