Three candidates were nominated for the four University of Guelph-Humber seats on the Guelph Senate, with a race for the fourth scheduled for September.

Two incumbents, Dilshan Jayasingh and Dalton Beseau, make up half the GH delegation to the Senate.

Newcomer Genevieve Samlal is the third senator, while a fourth seat will be fought over in a by-election.

All three are acclaimed and pending verification, after winning without any formal voting due to being the only contenders.

Current senators Ameerah McLean and Priya Rajkumar are not running again, with their terms running out on Aug. 31 of this summer.

The Avro Post has reached out to all three new senators for comment on how they plan to represent Guelph-Humber at Senate.
