The Humber Dance Company took to the stage for their year-end showcase at the Humber Lakeshore campus.

As the school year comes to a close the HDC will be ending off the year with their annual showcase.

With a lineup of 22 performances varying from contemporary, hip-hop and jazz. Students from both Humber and Guelph-Humber showcased their top performances of the year.

There was also a special performance by the Orillia Lakehead dance team.

The atmosphere was energized and tense, however it was mainly bittersweet for some graduating dancers like second year cosmetic management student, Lana Facchini.

“The most fun thing was being with friends in the studio,” said Facchini.

“It’s a great way to meet other people from different programs.”

Co-captain of the HDC, Melanie Hwang also expressed her pride for the team and describes what it takes to become a captain.

“Your chosen by the reigning captains and we want to notice that you have a lot of leadership skills,” says Hwang

“We like to chosen people that are in a four year programs, so that way by their second year they continue to go up the ranks and look over the team for awhile.”

Those that are interested in joining the dance team are encouraged to audition for September of 2018.

The HDC can be contacted through Facebook and Instagram.
