Nobel Peace Prize winner and vocal human rights activist Malala Yousafzai returned to Pakistan on Thursday, some six years after she was shot by militant Taliban gunman in 2012 for campaigning in favour of female education.

During the four day trip, she is expected to meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, but details are being kept secret because of its sensitivity, an official told AFP news agency.

Ms. Yousafzai currently attends Oxford University in the United Kingdom, and leads her Malala Fund organization that promotes education for women and girls.

Many in the country and globally gave her welcome back to her home country.
