The Russian Federation said on Thursday it is set to expel 150 envoys from its territory on Thursday in a retaliatory move against the United States, European Union nations and others that sent Russian diplomats home earlier this week.
On Mar. 26, the U.S., EU, Canada and Ukraine said they would expel over a hundred combined Russian diplomats in support of the United Kingdom.
Moscow and London have been engaged in a tense diplomatic fight since Russian former double agent Sergei Skripal and 33-year-old daughter Yulia were poisoned in the British city of Salisbury on Mar. 4.
The U.S. expelled 60 diplomats and closed down the Seattle consulate, and Russia responded by also kicking 60 U.S. officials, according to the TASS Russian news agency, and closing down the St. Petersburg embassy of the United States
Canada expelled four Russians, and rejected three applications from Moscow for more to be posted.
