Jollibee, a Filipino restaurant known for its fried chicken opened its first Toronto location on Sunday.

There are more than 1,000 locations in the Phillippines, two in Winnipeg and now one in Toronto.

Maribeth dela Cruz, vice president and general manager of Jollibee North America, says that there are approximately 30,000 Filipinos living within five miles of their Scarbourough location. Jolibee plans on opening more locations in Canada including Edmonton, AB and in Ontario including downtown Toronto and Mississauga.

Dedicated fried chicken lovers camped out and lined up as early as 4:30 a.m. for a seat at the restaurant for lunch.

The menu includes juicy beef burgers, crispy fried chicken, garlic sauced noodles and sweet and meaty spaghetti and other sandwiches.
