Some 70 patients were evacuated from a training and research hospital in Turkey’s Istanbul on Thursday as a fire raged on several floors, according to local reports citing authorities.

Video on social media shows the Gaziosmanpasa Taksim Educational and Research Hospital engulfed in massive flames that stretch up one side of the building.

Broadcaster NTV said buildings in the vicinity of the hospital were also being evacuated and there were no immediate reports of casualties.

Local municipality chief Hasan Tahsin Usta told another broadcaster, TRT, that patients had been evacuated from the hospital.
