A gunman has killed four individuals at Osmangazi University in central Turkey, according to multiple local media reports.

The assailant, identified only as former research assistant Dogukan B., also injured three others before being detained by security forces.

Among the victims were Vice Dean Mikail Yalcin, faculty secretary Fatih Ozmultu, research assistant Yasir Armagan and lecturer Serder Caglak.

Police have not yet found a motive and no group has claimed responsibility.

The gunman entered the dean’s room first and shot an individual there before shooting three others in the top floors of the building before departing, university rector Hasan Gonen told CNN Turk.

The attacker reportedly was previously fired from the university as part of a government investigation into the so-called Fethullahist Terrorist Organization, according to the BBC Monitoring service.
