One dead after shooting in Los Angeles neighborhood

One person is dead after an active shooter in a Los Angeles neighborhood opened fire in front of a burning house on Tuesday morning.

One person is dead after a shooter in Harbor Gateway, Los Angeles opened fire in front of a burning house on Tuesday morning.

According to local media, firefighters were called to put out a house fire at around 4:30 a.m. when the shooter opened fire.

Once police made their way to the house, the suspect was barricaded inside.

The scene of the shooting was chaotic with dozens of police vehicles parked in front of the house and an LAPD helicopter patrolling the area from above.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was at the scene and Los Angeles police went on citywide ‘tactical alert’ in response to the shooting.

The suspect is now in custody as police continue to investigate a possible motive.
