This year’s iHeartRadio MMVAs took over downtown Toronto, celebrating the very best of 2018 Canadian and International music.

The annual iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards aired live Sunday night, transforming Queen St. into a massive outdoor stage with performances from artists who dominated the charts, as well as appearances from many prominent presenters, including Tyra Banks and Prince Michael Jackson.

Actress and rapper Awkwafina, most known for her recent roles in two of the summer’s biggest blockbuster films Crazy Rich Asians and Oceans 8, hosted the two-hour show. The American star became the first Asian American actress to host a North American awards show.

While Drake and Alessia Cara were among the Canadian winners of the night, it was Shawn Mendes who won big, taking home four MMVA trophies. Mendes also opened and closed the show, performing his hit singles Lost In Japan and In My Blood.

Meghan Trainor, Halsey, and Bebe Rexha were among the other big performers of the show, along with rising artists bülow and Kris Wu who made their first television and iHeartRadio MMVA performances.

However, it was ’90s boy band 98 Degrees that truly stole the show, returning to the MMVAs stage for the first time since 1999 to perform a medley of their greatest hits over the years.

In case you missed the big Canadian night, here’s the complete list of awards given out last night.
