Daniel Bielak, president of the Guelph-Humber Consulting Association goes in depth about the society and how students can get involved.

What is GHCA?

Daniel Bielak, President of the Guelph-Humber Consulting Association discussed the history of GHCA and how it flourished to what it is today.

Bielak says after its formation five years ago it went away only after the first two years. It was not until three years ago, Bielak and a few other business students were able to revive the society.

“We try to foster engagement and provide opportunities for those looking to go into the management consulting field or innovation field,” said Bielak.

“We’re trying to be the stepping stone for people to get into the career they want to go in.”

What are your positions in the society?

The GHCA currently has all three executive positions filled for the school semester. Janefer Vo is the current VP of Communications, Adi Mandani is the VP of Activities and Daniel Bielak is President of the society.

Why should students join?

When asked what would you tell students that might be interested in joining, Bielak had this to say.

“Students are encouraged to join our society because this society understands the need to cultivate and foster a versatile skill set in the consulting field.”

Bielak said the GHCA welcomes all students from every program to join this society, not just the business students.

“We’re always looking for new members and there are amazing ways to get involved, said Bielak.”

“We’re creating a magazine, we have forums online, we have competitions. There’s a multitude of opportunities out here with GHCA outside of our own events.”

What can the Humber and Guelph Humber community expect this year for GHCA?

The GHCA announced that this school semester their theme would be innovation.

“This semester is all about innovation for us. From transforming our society from a group that happens to host events to a community where members can go beyond the event and be engaged in numerous events through the semester.”

The society says they are excited about the new workshop they will host called the Design Thinking and Innovation event.

“We are hosting a design thinking challenge, organizing workshops, challenges, guest speakers and finding collaborations in uncharted territories.”

The society they are ready to “reintroduce” themselves to the GH community and are excited for the new semester.
