Kyrie Irving scored a season-high 43 points to lead the Boston Celtics to an overtime victory against the Toronto Raptors by a score of 123-116.
The Raptors were without C.J. Miles, while OG Anunoby saw only nine minutes of action before spraining his right wrist. Kawhi Leonard recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Serge Ibaka scored 21 points, Pascal Siakam scored 16.
Danny Green was fouled out late in the fourth quarter, Pascal Siakam also fouled out in overtime.
The game was tight throughout, but the Celtics pulled away in overtime as they rode Kyrie Irving’s form who recorded 11 assists to go along with his 43 points.
The Raptors only made eight 3-pointers on the night, attempting 29. Although they only had 13 turnovers, free throws were a struggle for them especially in the third quarter as Pascal Siakam, Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry all missed their second free throw on consecutive trips to the line.
One of the plays of the game came from Toronto in the third quarter in what stemmed from a Kawhi Leonard steal.
It was confirmed earlier on Saturday that Kawhi Leonard will rest for the next game, and both C.J. Miles and OG Anunoby are listed as questionable.
The Raptors will look to get out of their losing slump as they face off against the Chicago Bulls at United Centre. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
