The University of Guelph-Humber retweeted a video from CBC on Tuesday morning that features the IGNITE pay-what-you-can soup bar.

The video heavily features IGNITE Vice President Maheen Nazim, who represents Guelph-Humber at the student union.

The video was posted by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s Toronto division with a link to their annual charity drive, Sounds of the Season.

Non-profit organization, Feed it Forward, teamed up with Humber College and IGNITE for the pay-what-you-can soup bar initiative in September.

The program’s aim is to eliminate food waste and provide food to hungry students without a limit on how much students can eat.

The food is prepared by executive chef and founder, Jagger Gordon and his team, and uses rescued food from the college, bakeries, groceries and restaurants.

The soup bar launched on Sept. 25 at Humber College North Campus Linx Lounge, and is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
