New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, three days after a mass shooting resulted in the deaths of 50 people, said that gun reform would be in place by next Monday.
Ardern told gathered reporters that her cabinet backs the firearm law changes “in principal” — a move that appears to be in response to the Christchurch attacks.
Australian Brenton Tarrant, 28, a self-described white supremacist, has been charged with murder.
Police say the killer used military-style assault weapons modified to make them more deadly – which is not illegal under current legislation.
