New details surrounding how the Ontario government will distribute funding to post-secondary institutions, including 10 metrics and the timing on their implementation, was revealed in a CBC News exclusive on Monday.

Graduate earnings, skills and competencies, graduate career employment and graduation rate are among six variables considered as outcome measures while four others are related to “economic and community impact”.

“On these, there is some variation between the measurements for colleges and universities,” CBC reported, citing a document marked “confidential” obtained from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

“Both will be evaluated on funding received from industry sources, as well as on “community/local impact,” a simple measure of the student population as a proportion of the local population.”
