The Toronto Raptors remain undefeated against the Golden State Warriors this season as they won game 1 of the NBA finals 118-109.

Pascal Siakam led Raptors scorers with 32 points on 14-17 shooting, he also had eight rebounds. Kawhi Leonard had 23 points and eight rebounds and shot 10-12 from the charity stripe. Marc Gasol had 20 points and six boards.

Danny Green came out of his playoff slump to score 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Kyle Lowry only scored nine points but had nine assists and six rebounds, he also did a lot of important things off the ball, including taking some charges. Fred VanVleet played 33 minutes off the bench and scored 15.

Steph Curry led the Warriors with 34 points, including making all 14 of his free throws. His backcourt partner Klay Thompson scored 21. Draymond Green recorded a triple-double as he scored 10 points, grabbed 10 boards and provided 10 assists.

Golden State head coach Steve Kerr went deep into his bench on Thursday night, but it will leave fans wondering if he sticks to that same plan for the rest of the series.

Many Raptors alumni were in the house to witness the first finals game in franchise history.

The Raptors and Warriors attempted around the same amount of 3s, but the Raptors made 13 to the opposition’s 12.

It was announced that OG Anunoby will be available for Toronto in game 2. Warriors star Kevin Durant was ruled out for game 2 and will return in either game 3 or 4.

Game 2 is on Sunday night at Scotiabank Arena. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m.
