Len Wiseman (Underworld) will direct the John Wick spin-off, The Ballerina.

While John Wick, Chapter 4 is slated for May 2021 and will continue the main story arc, the first spin-off in the franchise has found a director in the likes of Len Wiseman.

Rumoured to follow one of the ballerina dancers being trained at the Director’s institute (played by Angelica Huston in Chapter 3: Parabellum), Wiseman will take over the first major spin-off from the franchise from director Chad Stahelski.

The other major spin-off coming from the franchise is The Continental, a TV series based in the infamous hotel of the assassin universe. STARZ will air the series which is going to take a look at the formation of the hotel as a haven for the criminal underground, but it is unclear if Keanu Reeves or Ian McShane will be involved in the series at all.

Writer Shay Hatten describes the story as “…a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family,” which sounds very much in style with the John Wick universe.

The Ballerina does not yet have a release date or any casting details.
